Detailed analysis of CNVs/CNVRs in Indian cattle adapted to hot and cold climate, and their diversity among worldwide cattle is presented in this study. Most of these cows have white or fawn coats, with many of the males being darker overall. They were first bred in southern parts of Ethiopia. Boran cows are one of the most popular beef breeds in easter Africa. ![]() AMOVA revealed 9% variation among populations which is 2% greater than SNP based studies showing higher inclusion of variation by CNVR. Image Credit: Jaco van Rensburg, Shutterstock. CNVRs spanning the regions of olfactory receptors and immune system genes were identified. CNVR of Indian and European breeds revealed that Balkan and Italian breeds of Podolian group are admixed with Indian cattle breeds corroborating indicine introgression (6.1–13.5%). Neighbor joining tree from CNVR data showed that hot (Kankrej and Hallikar) and cold (Ladakhi and Siri) adapted cattle breeds clustered separately. Among Pantaneiro animals analyzed three had a taurine (submetacentric) Y and nine had a zebuine (acrocentric) Y chromosome, suggesting breed contamination by. Structure analysis revealed admixed nature of Siri. These two groups correspond to the main (and most ancestral) separation of. Out of the identified CNVs, 50 were found to be novel. This model was applied to taurine and zebu animals to identify loci under selection. The Indicine breeds revealed 2590 CNVs and 335 copy number variation regions (CNVRs) in autosomes. They are a highly regarded breed of taurine beef cattle. ![]() ![]() It’s a dual-purpose cow that you can use to produce milk or meat, and you can find it in a wide. Charolais cattle fun facts: There are numerous interesting facts about Charolais cattle, which originate from the Charolais area surrounding Charolles, in eastern France (sometimes known as Charlois Cattle, Charlet cows, Char cattle or Charlie cattle). It’s a tough and resistant breed with a calm and peaceful temperament, amazing reproductive abilities, and a long lifespan. The pattern of CNVRs in 191 animals belonging to 39 cattle breeds (four Indicine and 35 Taurine) was studied based on Illumina 777K BovineHD chip data. The Texas Longhorn is the parent breed of the longhorn types. Indian cattle breeds are highly diverse from the taurine breeds. Copy number variations (CNVs) include deletions, duplications, and insertions that are larger than 50 bp in size causing structural variation responsible for diversity, adaptation, and breed development.
